Confidentiality and Data Protection
The Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) will be dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information and has policies in place to ensure that all data is securely handled. Our handling of personal data will adhere to the standards set down by the UK Information Commissioner.
The personal data you provide for this application and otherwise as part of the recruitment process will be held and processed for the purpose of the selection processes of ETI and in connection with any subsequent employment or placement, unless otherwise indicated. The personal data will be initially controlled by or on behalf of the ETI. The ETI will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as needed to meet the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met. In the context of recruitment, we will destroy your CV and all other sensitive information within six months of you providing it to us, unless either you become an employee of ETI or we specifically contact you to request your authorisation to retain it for a longer period. We will ensure that all personal information supplied by you is held securely, in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998.
To process the personal data you provide for this application and otherwise for the purposes indicated, your personal data may be disclosed to third party organisations providing administration or other relevant services to the ETI.
By submitting your personal data and application, you ( 1) declare that you have read, understood and accepted the statements set out in this data protection clause (2) are declaring that the information given in the application is complete and true, and (3) are giving your consent to the processing of the information contained in this application and any other personal data you may provide separately in the manner and to the extent described; and (4) are authorising the ETI to verify or have verified on its behalf all statements contained in this application and to make any necessary reference checks.
