Location
The Energy Technologies Institute is set in an attractive office location on the outskirts of the Loughborough University Campus.
Travelling to Holywell Park, Loughborough
Loughborough is at the heart of England, in the northernmost part of Leicestershire, and it is well served by road, rail and air as a result of this central location.
Main line road and rail networks link Loughborough directly with the rest of the country and the town itself is served by excellent bus services.
Holywell Park is situated on the Loughborough University campus and is less than 2 miles away from junction 23 of the M1 motorway.
London is one-and-a-half hours away by train, Birmingham one hour and Manchester and Leeds two hours.
There are regular scheduled flights from UK, European and international destinations to East Midlands Airport, only 7 miles away.
Travelling by Car
Loughborough's main motorway link is the M1; the campus is just two miles from Junction 23. (From J23 of the M1, take the A512 towards Loughborough past the BP garage on the opposite side of the road. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit, following the signposts to Holywell Park).
The university is clearly signed on all the other main approach roads to Loughborough.
Car parking
Enter the campus via the West Entrance, then go over the first roundabout. You'll see a large white sign for "Holywell Park" where there is plenty of parking space.
Travelling by Coach or Bus
Coach and bus services to and from other parts of Leicestershire and the UK operate from the centre of Loughborough.
Travel by National Express or regional bus services to Loughborough, then connect with local Kinchbus town services to the Loughborough University campus. (See below)
University Shuttle bus service (“Kinchbus”)
Kinchbus Number 7 commences from Loughborough Railway station and brings you straight to campus.
Alighting points for the Kinchbus on the campus include:
- Students' Union
- Pilkington Library
- Wolfson School
- Holywell Park
In term time this service runs every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime until 5.45 pm. A Monday to Friday evening service operates every 30 minutes until 8.40 pm during term times only. Sunday service runs from 12 noon until 7.20 pm.
Travelling by Rail
Regular Intercity services operate between Loughborough and other main line towns - including over 40 trains daily to and from London St Pancras 90 minutes away.
Once at Loughborough's railway station, you are just ten minutes drive away from the campus. From here there is a regular bus service which operates every ten minutes during term time.
Taxis are normally available from the station and the journey should cost around £7 - £8.
